Introduction

Visual Management is the practice of visualizing important information such as standards and metrics so that they can be managed effectively and productively. This helps to promptly spot irregularity or deviation from the standards which can then be corrected immediately. This is one of the 14 principles developed by Toyota to ensure issues are not hidden. When done correctly, it creates transparency, encourages and empowers the employee to drive performance. By having clear visual controls, it allows the employee to identify and eliminate Wastes.
