Introduction

Value Stream Mapping is one of the foundation tools for an organization that is on their Lean Implementation journey. It was first used by Toyota Co. Its application has since spread beyond manufacturing and has become one the preferred tool for any organization that is looking to eliminate waste in the process and maximizes the value to the customer. VSM is conducted by using a set of standardized icons that will graphically visualize the flow of material and information of the product/services through various production stages.
